When Johnny Blaze discovers that his father, Barton Blaze, has terminal cancer, he makes a deal with Mephistopheles, trading his soul for his father's health. Unfortunately, the devil tricks him, and Barton dies in a motorcycle crash during a show. As a result, Johnny leaves the carnival, his hometown, his friends, and his girlfriend, Roxanne. Years later, Johnny becomes a well-known motorcyclist who takes life-threatening risks in his performances. He unexpectedly reunites with Roxanne, who is now a television reporter. Mephistopheles then offers Johnny a chance to free himself from the contract if he becomes the "Ghost Rider" and defeats his wicked son, Blackheart, who aims to capture a thousand evil souls and unleash hell on Earth.
This narrative follows Johnny Blaze, who, as a teenager, made a pact with the devil, Mephistopheles. Now, many years later, Johnny is a famous stunt performer by day and transforms into the Ghost Rider, a legendary bounty hunter for the devil at night. His mission involves tracking down evil souls on Earth and returning them to hell. When fate brings back his former love, Roxanne, Johnny sees a glimmer of hope for happiness if he can defeat Blackheart and reclaim his soul. To achieve this, he must confront his adversary and wayward son, Blackheart, whose scheme to conquer his father's domain threatens to bring chaos to Earth unless Ghost Rider intervenes in time. In 1986, a young and naïve motorcycle stuntman named Johnny Blaze made a deal with the demon Mephistopheles to save his father from dying. Twenty years later, Johnny, now a well-known daredevil, faces the consequences of his past when Mephistopheles returns with a dark proposition: if Johnny hunts down Mephisto's son, Blackheart, he can reclaim his soul.
To rescue his ailing father, young stunt rider Johnny Blaze agrees to sell his soul to Mephistopheles and heartbreakingly says goodbye to Roxanne Simpson, the love of his life. Years later, their paths cross again; Roxanne is now a reporter. Mephistopheles appears once more, offering to free Johnny’s soul if he becomes the legendary Ghost Rider, a supernatural force for vengeance. Tasked with defeating the wicked Blackheart, who aims to overthrow his father and create an even worse hell, Johnny must take on this dangerous mission.
