Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don't know where they are, or how they got there. They don't know they've been chosen - for a very specific purpose - The Hunt.
"Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They have no idea where they are -- or how they got there. In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, ruthless elitist operatives gather in a remote location to hunt humans for sport. But their master plan is about to go awry when one of the hunted, Crystal, turns the tables on her pursuers.
A group of strangers, twelve by the last count, wake up with gags tightly locked around their mouths in a forest surrounding a field, their exact location unknown and they have no idea what's going on. They find both a master key to open the gags and a crate in the middle of the field containing a dressed pig and an arsenal of weapons.
Believing they'll need weapons, presumably to survive, they arm themselves, which is when they begin to be attacked from a distance, some of whom are attacked to the point of dead. A large number of them begin to believe that they are involved in Manorgate, a story that has spread across the Internet: a group of Vermont elitists hunt people for sport, and weapons are provided to them only to give them a sense of a fighting chance.
Some of the group are able to escape what they believe to be the game area, but they still have to determine who/what is friend or foe among those people and the situations they encounter “outside”. But there is one person, possibly the most out of the twelve, who may have the best chance of survival by assessing the situation as it happens as opposed to fitting the situation into the Manorgate story. As such, she can actually figure out what is going on, and those twelve were specifically chosen for this exercise.
